Juki TL-2010Q Sewing Machine Reviews
This machine is slightly less expensive than the above model but still not ideal if you are on a tight budget.
The Q is for quilting here and whether it’s ambitious quilting projects or working with leather, the Juki delivers in fine style. It should be noted that the straight mechanical stitch means that this is not suitable as an all-purpose sewing machine.
Lots of sewing machines for leather are extremely complex but this all-metal beast is extremely user-friendly without compromising on quality.
With 3 presser feet and 4 bobbins, you’ll have enough variety without being bewildered.
The main selling point of this model from Juki is the exceptional stitch quality. Simply turn the dial for length adjustments while a basic slider tweaks the speed. Starting from 200spm, you can go as quickly as 1500spm.
If you are looking for an all-rounder capable of a great deal without an excess of unnecessary stitches, the Tl-2010Q could be just what you were looking for. From beginners through to more advanced sewers, the Juki is a reliable workhorse ideal for sewing leather.

Tying Off The Loose Ends
When it comes to home quilting machines, there aren’t many more sewing machines that get the job done as effectively and efficiently as the Juki TL 2010Q.
This mechanical straight stitch only machine is a true quilting machine, not a sewing and quilting machine. That makes a huge difference for those home sewers who are machine quilting purists.
Lots and lots of the computerized machines on the market today are promoted as sewing and quilting machines, and they do wonderful work.
The issue, however, is that when it comes to machine quilting, the computerized quilting machines have tons of optional quilting stitches that are not the traditional quilting stitches that our grandmothers used when making those heirloom quilts that are cherished for many generations.
The stitches made on the Juki TL 2010Q are perfectly formed and well defined regardless of the stitch length setting.
Because of the variable speed control, I think the Juki TL2010Q is an ideal choice for the beginner home quilter from the age of ten on up.
While learning to operate it, the Juki TL 2010Q can be set to sew as slow as 200 stitches per minute. As the user’s skill level improves, the speed can be increased until it reaches the maximum speed of 1500 stitches per minute.
This machine is also a good option for the seasoned home quilter who doesn’t have enough space for a large quilting frame, but wants to have access to the precision and freedom of freehand machine quilting on a superior machine.
The large space between the needle and the column, coupled with the extension table, even feed foot and adjustable presser foot pressure make working with quilts of all sizes incredibly easy.
It doesn’t take nearly as much space as a full size quilt frame, yet works like a heavy duty industrial quilting machine.
During the course of this review at Stuart Sew and Vac, the owner’s wife came by and pointed out that if she did not already have a reliable quilting machine at home, she would definitely think long and hard about purchasing the Juki TL2010Q for herself.
After reviewing this machine, I am certain she was not just trying to make a sale. After all, she knew who I was and why I was there. I will add that if I were a machine quilting enthusiast, I would certainly give buying this some very serious consideration myself.
The Juki name and reputation are not in any way compromised because the TL 2010Q is made for home use rather than in a warehouse or professional sewing studio. It brings with it all of the great quality and workmanship that Juki is known for to the comfort of any home.
